On Wednesday, October 9, Allyson Gardner, Director of Maine Students Vote, moderated a panel discussion of teens from York High School and Scarborough High School about issues that matter the most to students. Based on the 2025 Camden Conference theme, “Democracy under Threat: A Global Perspective,” this virtual program was a collaboration between Maine Students Vote, York Public Library, Scarborough Public Library, and student leaders.
Moderator Allyson Gardner has based her career on working towards a liveable and just future. She has worked for the past twelve years with nonprofits whose missions ranged from growing youth leadership to fighting for equitable financial access to demanding food justice. The throughline of these organizations has been rooted in uplifting community voice and local organizing. Allyson is excited to leverage this experience as the Director of Maine Students Vote.
