Bob Hirsch

Bob Hirsch had a 30+ year career with DuPont where he was a research director and retired as a global managing director having run five of the company’s businesses. He grew up in Baltimore, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Scranton prior to earning a master’s at Harvard, and a PhD at the University of Virginia, all in physics. Much of his career involved international business, especially in China, Japan, India, Europe, and the Middle East. He was an invited speaker at MIT’s Sloan School and at the University of Singapore Business School, in addition to being a member of the Board of Visitors of Duke University’s Engineering School and the Physical and Mathematical Sciences Foundation at N.C. State University. Locally Bob has served on the Habitat Board and on the boards of a number of Maine venture companies. He was president of the Camden Conference in 2010-2012 and now serves as Treasurer and Finance Chair.
