Camden Conference > test (FAQ Template)

In many ways, the production of the Conference will be very similar to how we’ve done it in the past. The big exception of course is, this time without a live audience!  The entire audience will be watching the Conference from the comfort of their homes much like how attendees at our satellite venues have for many years.

Conference producer, Jim Ruddy, will again provide his skills, his sense of humor, and his superb technical crew. At his recommendation, the event will be based at the Camden Opera House (pandemic conditions permitting), where the necessary bandwidth and equipment are available. The moderator will be on the familiar stage of the Opera House, and the speakers from around the world will be using an advanced version of Zoom in their offices or other sites. The tech crew in Camden will integrate the Zoom video and audio from the various locations into the live feed from Camden, resulting in a viewing experience similar to watching high-quality television. As always, our audience will be able to ask questions of our speakers, this year through email.

Sure, there are some special challenges for this year’s Conference but Jim Ruddy and the production staff are looking forward to meeting these challenges as we move forward.  As always, the show must go on!

Members at the ENVOY level ($150) and above will be able to watch through the member portal on our website accessible from any Internet-enabled devices such as your smart phone, tablet and computer.  If you are equipped with a casting solution (e.g. Chromecast , Roku, etc.) you should also be able to cast the event from your computer to your TV*.

For non-members we will have a registration fee for the Conference of $150. You will be able to register for the Conference starting November 30. The price is equal to the cost of a ticket to one of our satellite venues in a normal year. You will receive a link to view the Conference on February 20-21, 2021, through Livestream.

(*) Important Note: The Camden Conference does not provide technical support for casting to your TV.

It is too soon to tell, but we are hoping to be able to come together live again to foster informed discussion on world issues!

Membership is the best, but not only way, to see the Camden Conference. Members at the ENVOY level ($150) and above will be able to watch through the member portal on our website. You will also have priority access to several special events currently in planning.

For non-members we will have a registration fee for the Conference of $150. You will be able to register for the Conference starting November 30. We recommend watching in real time, which will allow you the option of asking questions of the speakers during the allotted times. At the conclusion of the program each day, the recording will be available for viewing.

The feed will be available to Members for 2 weeks after the Conference. For non-member attendees, the access will end at midnight on Sunday, 2/21.

Membership to the Camden Conference means you support our mission of fostering informed discourse on global issues. We could not continue to bring in renowned speakers from around the world (in a normal year), with the high production value our audience has come to expect, without the support of our members! Members also help us open our programming up to students, from high schools to colleges and universities, giving them a worldview that they might not otherwise have.

“It has been a privilege to be a part of the Camden Conference Board of Directors and a member of the Development Committee over the past three years. To have such an outstanding example of civic and community engagement, with world class speakers and critically important programs, it is why our family supports the Camden Conference with our continued membership donation for 2020.” James Hengerer
