Village Life in Tanzania, East Africa
January 8, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm EST

Tom and Pat McCabe will speak on “Village Life in Tanzania” on Friday, Jan. 8, 6:30 pm at the Freeport Community Library. In 2012 Tom and Pat retired from their jobs in Brunswick, Maine to serve with the Peace Corps in the East African country of Tanzania, known for its vast wilderness area including the plains of the Serengeti National Park, and Kilimanjaro National Park – home to Africa’s highest mountain.
Together, Tom and Pat, spent 27 months in Tanzania as community health volunteers, living simply and absorbing village life. As a result of attending this Camden Conference event at FCL, they hope the audience will gain a greater understanding of the Peace Corps, life in rural Tanzania, and insight into the people who touched their lives.
This event is organized by the Camden Conference in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Maine. For more information, please contact the Freeport Community
