The Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union (Lecture @ Portland Public Library)

The Camden Conference free Community Events series continues with a presentation on “The Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union: 1917 – 1991“ by John Doughty on Thursday December 11, 12:00 noon at the Portland Public Library located at 5 Monument Square in Portland.
John D. Doughty is currently Vice President and Director of Research for R. M. Davis, Inc. in Portland. John earned his B.A. (cum laude) in History and Government and Legal Studies from Bowdoin College and his MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. John also completed graduate course work in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the Maine CFA Society, the Boston Security Analysts Society and the National Association of Petroleum Investment Analysts. John has served on numerous community boards. Presently, John serves on the Pine Tree Council’s Investment Committee, the Maine Historical Society’s Board of Trustees, and the World Affairs Council of Maine’s Board of Directors.
This presentation is hosted by the Portland Public Library and offered as a free Camden Conference Community Event in collaboration with the World Affairs Council of Maine in anticipation of the 28th Annual Camden Conference: Russia Resurgent, February 20-22, 2015. The mission of the Camden Conference is to foster informed discourse on world issues.
