National Security Strategy ~ Discussion Group in Castine
January 10, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EST

Witherle Memorial Library’s monthly Foreign Affairs discussion group will meet at the library in Castine at 41 School Street on Wednesday, January 10 (please note that this is a week later than the usual meeting date) from 5 to 6 pm.
All of our upcoming once monthly sessions are in support of the Camden Conference (February 16-18). The topic for this month is the recently announced National Security Strategy and what it says about the Administration’s world view.
The moderator is Ambassador Barbara Griffiths. Ambassador Griffiths is the former Ambassador to Iceland. Included in the discussion will be a look at how the new Strategy report compares with those of past administrations.
Readings are available at the library’s front desk. Some readings can also be found online at: nssarchive.us The site has past strategy reports.
Include Trump’s strategy in your reading. The ambassador will be prepared to talk about Obama, George W. Bush and others but please read about them yourself as well. Also read ‘The National Security Strategy is not a Strategy’ found at foreignaffairs.com/articles. The piece is a Snapshot article by Rebecca Friedman Lissner from 12/19/17.
