“Is This China’s Century?” (Discussion Series @ Blue Hill Public Library-Part 1)
February 11, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST
The Blue Hill Public Library will be holding a three session discussion series hosted by former U.S. Diplomat Bob Sargent, in connection with the 32nd annual Camden Conference. The sessions will take place on three dates: Monday, February 11th, Tuesday, February 19th, and Monday, March 4th, all from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. The Camden Conference runs from February 22nd to 24th in Camden, between the second and last discussion sessions. The BHPL discussion series is free, but space is limited, so registration is required.
This series is designed to help participants achieve optimal benefit from participation in the Camden Conference. In the first two sessions, participants will consider a list of questions deemed relevant and provocative to the theme of the conference, which this year is “Is This China’s Century?” In the third session, participants will review and discuss findings and recommendations that surfaced during the Camden Conference.
Bob Sargent’s diplomatic assignments have included Belgium, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Tunisia, Turkey and Vietnam. He is a former member of the Camden Conference Board of Directors and Advisory Board and a three-time conference program chair.
Participants are asked to register for the Blue Hill Library discussion sessions using the library’s interactive calendar found at www.bhpl.net or by calling the library at 374-5515. For more information and suggested readings, check camdenconference.org. Materials recommended by the Camden Conference web site will be available to check out from the library.
