How to Help Maine’s Refugees

November 29, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm EST

Want to help Maine refugees?  Join us for an informational meeting to discuss the needs of Maine’s refugees and how to help.

This meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 29, 7-8 PM at the Thomas Memorial Library in Cape Elizabeth.

At this meeting, you’ll learn what you can do to help concerned individuals who are making a difference by helping with short-term housing and transportation, by providing meals and collecting needed clothing, by becoming mentors helping refugees navigate their way in their new country and culture.

Refugees and service providers will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice. “As a community, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these lovely, gracious people,” says Cape resident Marvel Earnshaw, who is organizing the event. “All of us are so fortunate to live in a country where we enjoy freedom, opportunity, peace and safety – something that doesn’t exist in many parts of the world.”

For more information, please email Marvel Earnshaw or call her at 756-3317.
