Glimpses of Iran with Parivash Rohani

January 19, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm EST

The Thomas Memorial Library in Cape Elizabeth will host humanitarian Parivash Rohani on January 19 at 6:30 pm. She will share her story of growing up in Iran until she was sent to India by her family at 18 to escape the systematic persecution of the religious minority Baha’i faith.  Rohani will discuss how the Iran of today differs from the Iran of her childhood including broad human rights issues, along with the ongoing persecution of the Baha’i faith.  Parivash Rohani lives in Auburn, Maine, with her husband, fellow Iranian native Nassar Rohani, and their four children.  She is heavily involved in the world-wide campaign “Education is not a crime”.
