Genealogy: Where Does Your Story Begin?

 In his book, A Nation of Immigrants, John F. Kennedy wrote: “This was the secret of America: a nation of people … eager to build lives for themselves in a spacious society that did not restrict their freedom of choice and action.” Do you know where your story began? Emily A. Schroeder, MLIS, Staff Genealogist at the Maine State Library, will discuss available resources for ancestral research with a focus on immigration records. Ms. Schroeder has worked at the Maine State Library for over 30 years and serves on the Board of Directors of the Maine Genealogical Society. Registration is required.
