CIFF short film The Nightcrawlers will be shown at the Strand-co-presented by the Camden Conference and Pine Tree Watch

The 15th annual Camden International Film Festival will take place in Camden, Rockport and Rockland, Maine, from September 12 to 15. Known for bringing the finest non-fiction cinema to the rugged coast of Maine, the festival will showcase documentary features and shorts from around the globe. The weekend will feature a number of wonderful documentary films from both emerging and established filmmakers, many of whom attend their screenings. Venues across Camden, Rockport, and Rockland will host the viewings.
The Camden Conference is co-presenting, with Pine Tree Watch, the world premiere of The Nightcrawlers at the Strand Theatre in Rockland at 4pm. The filmmaker will be in attendance and the 40 minute film with be followed by a Q & A session.
With unprecedented access, The Nightcrawlers, is an unflinching exposé of Filipino President Duterte’s war on drugs, in which some claim over 20,000 people have been killed. R.L., a former staff photographer for a prominent newspaper, leads the Manila Nightcrawlers, a small group of determined photojournalists on a mission to expose the true cost of the violent campaign. In covering both sides of the conflict, The Nightcrawlers reveals a harrowing twist behind Duterte’s deadly crusade.
Founded in 2005 and recognized as one of the top documentary film festivals in the world, the Camden International Film Festival (CIFF) highlights innovative work that shows a deep commitment to the craft of nonfiction storytelling.
