CIFF Selects: Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project at the Camden Opera House
January 22, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST
Marion Stokes secretly recorded television 24 hours a day for 30 years from 1975 until her death in 2012. For Marion taping was a form of activism to seek the truth, and she believed that a comprehensive archive of the media would be invaluable for future generations. Her visionary and maddening project nearly tore her family apart, but now her 70,000 VHS tapes are being digitized and they’ll be searchable online.
Tickets are $10 for adults and can be purchased online or starting one hour before the show at the Camden Opera House box office. All screenings are free for students under the age of 18, or who present a valid college ID. CIFF Selects is a program of the Points North Institute and is sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank. This film is co-presented by the Camden Conference.
