“Architecture as Expressions of Change: Considering Food and Ukraine”-talk by J. Brooke Harrington and Judith Bing on ZOOM

January 15 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm EST

The Camden Conference and Cushing Public Library present J. Brooke Harrington and Judith Bing in a virtual talk on Sunday, January 15 at 1:30pm. Please email wrobertsmaine63@gmail.com to register for the zoom.

This presentation explores change: first, in the architectures of granaries and their importance in societies; and second, through a historic survey of architecture in Ukraine. This two-part talk was prompted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the global food crisis threatened by blockage of Ukraine’s grain shipments.

The presenters are professors emeriti of architecture, Brooke of Temple University and Judith of Drexel University, in Philadelphia. Currently they are Center Associates at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University, and Visiting Scholars at the Aga Khan Documentation Center at MIT, in Cambridge. They live in Cushing.
