Village Life in Tanzania
January 29, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm EST

Join Peace Corps volunteers Tom and Pat McCabe to hear about their experience working and living in a small village in the east African country of Tanzania. The McCabes spent 27 months in the country working as community health volunteers. In addition to teaching hygiene basics and working to improve conditions in the village, they taught local youth to play lacrosse.
This evening is held in support of the 29th Annual Camden Conference titled “The New Africa.” The conference will be presented live from the Camden Opera House and live-streamed to the Strand Theatre in Rockland, the University of Maine Hutchinson Center in Belfast, and University of Southern Maine Lee Auditorium in Portland, February 19– 21.
With support from the Camden Conference, in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Maine, the library added books and films related to Africa today to the collection. Check out these new materials on display in the library to find recommended reading and viewing materials. — CLL
