DISCUSSION SERIES RETURNS FOR 2016

The Camden Conference free Community Events Discussion Series returns this year with a four-part monthly series that will offer participants an opportunity to explore some key issues of this vast continent — all in preparation for the 2016 Camden Conference, The New Africa.

The facilitated discussions will begin with October’s topic, “Who is Africa?” at the Camden Public Library on Tuesday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m., at the Belfast Free Library on Wednesday, October 7 at 6:30 p.m., to be followed at the Rockland Public Library on Tuesday, October 13 at 6:00 p.m.. The series will run regularly on the first Tuesdays in Camden at 7:00 PM, first Wednesdays in Belfast at 6:30 PM, and second Tuesdays in Rockland at 6:00 PM.

November’s topic is “Africa’s Resources: Who Wins, Who Loses?”; December’s focus is “War and Reconciliation – Africa’s Dilemma”; and in January, the subject will be “The New Africa: Challenges and Hope.”

Participants will have the opportunity to be part of a lively discussion based on selected readings and videos, which can be found at www.camdenconference.org. Participants are encouraged to read and view the selections ahead of the discussion. Participation in all four sessions is encouraged.

This free Community Events Discussion Series is offered in anticipation of the 29th Annual Camden Conference: The New Africa, February 19-21, 2016. The mission of the Camden Conference is to foster informed discourse on world issues. For more information, visit www.camdenconference.org, email [email protected], or call 207-236-1034.
