Camden Conference announces first independent streaming site in Hanover, New Hampshire
The Camden Conference and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Dartmouth are pleased to announce a partnership that will bring the livestream of the 2019 Conference “Is This China’s Century?” to New Hampshire. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a volunteer organization that provides lifelong educational programs year-round for residents in the greater Upper Valley and North Haverhill. It is based on the campus of Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.
The Camden Conference is a renowned global citizens’ forum and one the largest of its kind in the U.S. Now in its 32nd year, the Conference offers an opportunity to learn from and engage with leading experts on issues that affect our lives and our world. It takes place this year February 22-24 live from the Camden Opera House in Camden, ME. In addition to the Conference, the organization presents a year-round series of mostly free talks, films and discussions related to the annual topic. The Conference organization oversees several livestream venues in Maine, but the Osher venue is the first independently managed, out-of-state venue.
“We are delighted that this partnership will bring the Camden Conference to New Hampshire,” said Bruce Cole, President of the Camden Conference. “Our mission as a non-profit, non-partisan organization is all about providing citizen education in global affairs.”
“OSHER@Dartmouth is very excited to bring the Camden Conference to Dartmouth and the Upper Valley Community. We have a large number of members, faculty, students, and community members who have a long and deep interest in Foreign Policy. It is a privilege and an honor to be able to host the livestream of the Conference here,” said John Sanders, President of OSHER.
OSHER@Dartmouth has received generous grants from Pete Fahey and Philip McCaull of Commonwealth Financial Network, based in Lebanon, NH, which allow it to fund the livestream of the Conference and offer it to their members and the public in their geographic area. The livestream will be aired at an auditorium at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in nearby Lebanon, NH. Dartmouth-Hitchcock is making the auditorium available at no charge. Osher will handle all publicity, registration and logistics for their venue.
