“Chinese Art through the Eyes of an Art Museum Educator” a talk by Vas Prabhu at the Cushing Library

The Camden Conference presents Vas Prabhu at the Cushing Library on Sunday, January 13 at 2:00pm. This event is free and open to all. Bronze, clay, porcelain, jade, paper & ink and installation art… Chinese artists have done it all.  Experience a personal journey of China’s artistic accomplishments through ten works of art from the Bronze Age to the present day. The session will conclude with a discussion about current practice. Vas Prabhu is a museum educator who has worked in a variety of art museums with Asian collections, including Cornell University’s art museum, Peabody Essex Museum, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and others. Her Asian projects include exhibitions, exchanges with museum colleagues, and interpretation of Yin Yu Tang, a merchant’s home that was moved from rural Anhui Province, China to Salem, MA.
